As a first-time mom, I want to make every holiday feel special for my 4-month-old daughter—even if she may not remember it. Why? Because *I’ll* remember it, celebrating brings me joy, and she’ll have sweet photos to look back on. And Valentine’s Day is no exception. I already bought her heart-adorned pajamas and onesies, and I plan on purchasing Valentine’s Day baby toys, teethers, and books—as well as taking advantage of any sales, obvs (pretty much any holiday is the best time to stock up on discounted formula, diapers, etc.).

The Sweetest Sleep & Play Footies
I bought this exact one-piece for my daughter—just look at those little heart-shaped lollipops! Squeal! The material is soft and durable (and breathable for those who are looking for fabric that keeps Baby nice and cool if the heater is on all night—something to always keep in mind when practicing safe sleep). This one is 100 percent cotton, which I prefer with my daughter’s PJs. Old Navy has a ton of other patterns for Valentine’s Day and beyond, and you can pretty much always snag ’em at a discounted price.
Old Navy Zip Sleep & Play Footed One-Piece for Baby$10 (was $13)

Valentine’s Day-Themed Squishmallow
This is a better gift for older babies who have good hand-eye coordination (mine is too small for this), but if your LO loves a plush toy, they’ll be all about this dipped strawberry Squishmallow that’s irresistibly soft and SO CUTE. Walmart sells a whole bunch you can choose from.

Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Everything Is Mama’ Board Book
Maybe one of the best Valentine’s Day gifts is kind of a gift for yourself. After all, if this is a birthing person reading this, you *did* create life, so why not give yourself some credit, too? I personally love any clothing or accessories that say “mama” or “mommy” on it, especially since I truly am my baby’s favorite person! (It helps that I’m the one with the milk.) This book is entertaining for both parent/caregiver and baby, and really dang cute. Because everything IS mama, and I’ll take that for as long as possible. Thanks, Jimmy Fallon.

This Personalized Sweater Onesie
Every holiday, I’ll splurge on at least one item for my daughter. She wears sweaters every day, so I’ll be getting her this lilac Bubble Romper sweater from Caden Lane, a brand that makes some of the softest clothing for young babies (I bought a Caden Lane nightgown for my daughter for the day she was brought home from the hospital, and it was a huge hit), as well as other accessories.
This sweater is personalized, and you can choose between cursive or standard block, and both are cute. It’s made with 100 percent cotton, features easy snaps, three other color options, and is pretty loose-fitting, so they’ll get a decent amount of wear out of it.

A Heated Plush Toy
Heated plushies, like Warmies, help soothe babies who haven’t learned how to regulate their nervous system yet. They can be great tools for fussy babes going through sleep regression, teething, or even general colic. I’ll put one in my daughter’s stroller, car seat, or even her crib (I take it away once she’s fallen asleep), and I find that it really calms her down.
How it works: You just pop it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, and give it to your LO. It’s filled with natural flaxseed and lavender (so smells amazing), and it’s designed with safety top of mind. Warmies has a bunch of adorable Valentine’s Day offerings on their site.

A Valentine’s Day-Themed Headband
As a mom to a baby girl, I’ve already got a basket-full of headbands for my daughter’s bald little head! It’s a cute and easy way to accessorize her, and this pink, heart-patterned headband will be added to the pile. It’s made of a super-soft viscose (that “bamboo”-like material) and has nice stretch thanks to spandex. Since it does stretch, it’ll likely be good for several years.

Valentine’s Day Diapers
Honest Diapers offers some of the cleanest, safest, and most functional diapers on the market—at a reasonable price. And? The brand has really cute patterns and themes, so you can really deck out your baby every month (or every week) if you really want. This adorbs ballerina print is Honest’s Valentine’s Day selection this season, and I’m stocking up on a couple packs. The Valentine’s Day pattern is available in NB, 1, and 2 sizing currently.
Honest Diapers have always been reliable for my daughter, but the “best” diaper really just depends on your baby’s shape and size! Mila is on the smaller side in both weight and length, and Honest seems to fit her pretty well, and prevent major blowouts, thanks to the diapers’ leakproof design.

‘Lover Boy’ Set
I know, I know. So many of my recommendations are for baby girls (it’s what I know!). So here: This 100 percent cotton blend set is so perfect for photoshoots for your scrumption son. It’s available in most infant sizes and comes in a gray color as well as this cream. In terms of quality: It’s Amazon, so ya do get what you pay for, but it’s kind of ideal for a one or few-day wear.

A Dino-Heart Teether
My girl isn’t teething yet, but it’s coming. I can feel it. Literally—the drool is everywhere. I like having some silicone plush options around, since she can work on her hand-eye coordination skills and play with the toy part of it, chew on the silicone part, and suck on the soft fabric if she wants. It’s dishwasher and washing machine-safe, and it’s also good to go for the fridge if you want to chill it a bit.

Magnetic Pajamas
Magnetic pajamas are more of a gift for parents and caretakers than they are for babies themselves, but if you’re looking for a 2-in-1 present, this is it. Magnetic Me makes pajamas (and other types of clothing) irresistibly soft, but the pièce de résistance is the magnetic snap feature. No more snaps. No more zippers. No more buttons. The magnetic “snaps” close by themselves with super securely fascened magnets within the fabric, which makes diaper changes a breeze (or, at least much faster than they would be otherwise).
Magnetic Me doesn’t have Valentine’s Day options yet (as of publication), so I picked this cute Rodeo Pink Drive for the little cowgirls. The brand has tons of pattern and color options, as well as different types of PJs, sets, and even adult options.

It comes in nine other colors, so you don’t have to go with pink if you don’t wanna! The material is fleece and sensitive skin-friendly, and it’s totally machine-washable (important, LOL).

Baby Food
While it’s not advised to get Baby a box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day, you can get them tasty, premade purees that are made with super clean ingredients. We are now *just* starting my daughter on a few bites of stage 1 foods, but I’ll be ordering Little Spoon once she’s a little older. I’m super happy with the ingredient list, flavors, and ease of Little Spoon’s meal delivery service (because it means I don’t have to be running to the grocery store for jars, nor do I have to meal prep every week and worry about DIY purees going bad).
Little Spoon meets you where you and your baby are at—stage, age, and preferences. Plus, it’s not just purees: LS has Lunchable-type meals (but like, way better for their little bodies), snack pouches, baby cereals, and more.

My Favorite Formula
As a shopping editor at a parenting site, I get to try so much baby and parenting gear, and that includes formula. A little backstory: I planned on EBF (exclusively breast-feeding), but I just couldn’t keep up with my daughter, she wasn’t the best latcher and she wasn’t gaining weight fast enough, and so I ended up going the combo route pretty early on. It took a lot of trial and error finding the perfect formula for her, and ByHeart is one of my (rather, my daughter’s) favorites.
This milk-based powder formula has great ingredients, but the three things that stood out the most to me is that 1. the formula is *so* easy to mix and dissolve in water. I was really struggling with other brands—the powder just kept clumping, and I didn’t feel like buying a separate mixer to add to my already-cluttered-with-baby-stuff house, 2. it was easy on my daughter’s tummy (less reflux and spit-up), and 3. she liked it and guzzled down every single bottle we gave her.
For Valentine’s Day, I’m stocking up on some ByHeart cans—especially since they’re currently on sale until January 23.

The Best Pacifiers
These MAM pacifiers aren’t Valentine’s Day-themed per se, but your baby will love you for them, regardless. Designed with pediatric dentists and orthodontists, I love that these pacis can go in any which way (there’s no rightside up or down), the silicone nipple is BPA-free, and that they have the most precious designs. Plus, my daughter just really prefers them!
