New year, new music. K-Pop is certainly climbing the charts in 2025. All your favorite groups are ready to release their new hits into the world.
2025 is an exciting year, particularly for third-gen boy bands with several anniversaries coming out and members coming back from mandatory military service. Most notably, BTS will be seven again and EXO will make their first full group comeback since July 2023. GOT7 will release their second album after leaving JYP Entertainment. Fourth and fifth-gen boy groups like BOYNEXTDOOR and ZEROBASEONE are ready to make it their year as well.

Girl groups also have a powerhouse year with GFRIEND releasing a ten-year anniversary album and IVE kicking off the first quarter with their album EMPATHY.

Onew: January 6
SHINee member Onew is set to release his fourth solo EP, Connection, on January 6, 2025, under Griffin Entertainment with the lead single “Winner”. He’s also set to embark on a concert tour titled Onew the Live: Connection.

KOZ Entertainment’s BOYNEXTDOOR is releasing their first single of 2025 “IF I SAY, I LOVE YOU” on January 6.

SEVENTEEN’s BSS: January 8
SEVENTEEN’s beloved subunit BSS, comprised of Hoshi, DK, and Seungkwan, is welcoming us into the new year with their second Single Album TELEPARTY on January 8.

Woosung: January 9
Woosung of The Rose is releasing a remix of his solo album 4444 called [4444: Reborn].

GFRIEND: January 13
Source Music announced that GFRIEND would be making a 10 year anniversary comeback reunion on January 13, 2025, with their album Season of Memories. They’ll also have a comeback concert in South Korea from January 17 to 19.

GOT7: January 20
Jinyoung was discharged from his mandatory enlistment service in late 2024. Now that all members are reunited, GOT7 will be releasing their long-awaited comeback WINTER HEPTAGON on January 20.

CIX: January
CIX will be releasing their 7th EP album THUNDER FEVER in January 2025.

IVE: February 3
IVE will be releasing their comeback album Empathy on February 3, 2025. Their single “Rebel Heart” will be released on January 13, 2025.

Blackpink’s LISA: February 28
LISA will be releasing her first solo album Alter Ego on February 28, 2025. This is her first album with RCA Records after she left YG Entertainment.

KAI: First quarter of 2025
EXO’s Kai will be returning from the military in February 2025. SM Entertainment announced that the “Rover” singer has solo plans in the first quarter of 2025.

NCT’s extraordinaire MARK will be releasing his debut solo album in April 2025.

Seunghan: Later half of 2025
Seunghan, who left RIIZE in 2024, will be making his solo debut in 2025.

BTS: June 2025
According to Naver, BTS is scheduled to make a comeback once all the members return from the military. The comeback coincides with the 10 year anniversary of The Most Beautiful Moment In Life album series.
However, some reports say that BTS is preparing for a comeback in 2026. “We are currently discussing (BTS’) full-fledged group activities for 2026 with the members,” HYBE’s chief financial officer (CFO) Lee Kyung-jun said in a third quarter call.
“Plans for 2026 have not yet been finalized,” the CFO noted. “While a full-group comeback (of BTS) would indeed generate significant revenue, the growth of other artists and new business ventures means that BTS’ share of overall revenue is not likely to be as high as in the past.”

According to Naver, BLACKPINK is scheduled to make a comeback this year.

EXO: Later half of 2025
EXO’s Suho announced that EXO will be having a full group comeback after Sehun and Kai’s discharge from the military in the latter half of 2025. “After Sehun completes his duty, all members will have fulfilled their military service. We’ll come back together as EXO and meet our fans again,” the leader said at the 2024 Asian Artist Awards.
