In a heartwarming reveal this week, chef Adrian Lipscombe, a friend of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, shared the sweet detail about their 3-year-old daughter’s current interests. While defending the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan, Lipscombe let slip that she and Meghan bonded over their daughters’ mutual obsession with all things royal and regal.

“I’ve had the pleasure of meeting @meghan over food, and let me tell you, she and her well-known significant other are some of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met,” Lipscombe wrote on Instagram. “We talked about our families (mostly about our daughters being in their princess phase and the movies they love) and, of course, about food.”

The irony isn’t lost on us: Lilibet, who happens to be seventh in line to the British throne, is fascinated by the very world she’s already part of!

While Lilibet’s princess phase might be new, her actual title isn’t. Following Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022 and King Charles’ accession to the throne, both Lilibet and her older brother Archie, 5, officially became prince and princess. “The children’s titles have been a birthright since their grandfather became monarch,” a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously confirmed in a statement at the time.

The sweet detail about Lilibet’s current interests offers a rare glimpse into the Sussex children’s private world. Meghan and Harry have been notably protective of their kids’ privacy since relocating to California. “We’ve been really conscious of protecting our kids as best as we can and also understanding the role that they play in this really historic family,” Meghan explained in the couple’s Netflix docuseries.

And according to Lipscombe, despite their royal status, the Sussexes remain remarkably grounded. She noted that during their conversation, Meghan “didn’t rush the conversation, even though I was taking up her time. She was gracious, engaged and kind.”

One can only imagine the magical moment when Lilibet fully realizes she’s not just playing pretend—she’s an actual princess in her own right. Now that’s what we call living the dream.
