Valentine’s Day is a ton of fun for kids, but there’s only so much chocolate you can really let them eat, right? How do you fill a Valentine’s Day evening at home after they’ve had their fill and handed out cards at school? Because don’t forget: You may want to stay home with the kiddos that night, seeing as most of your favorite restaurants will be overrun with couples packing on the PDA. So, how to keep the kids occupied? Hearts, hearts, and more hearts — courtesy of the free Valentine’s Day coloring pages.

Coloring allows your kids to work on coordination and fine motor skills, and be imaginative and creative. We pulled our favorite Valentine’s Day coloring pages — from hearts to animals to cupids — so they can celebrate the holiday with their own unique color schemes. Best of all? They’re free! All you need is some paper and a printer. (Pro Tip: Try the local library if you need the latter.)

Whether kids choose a heart-holding bear or a fun-loving cupid, they’ll have a great time with these Valentine’s Day coloring pages. Bonus point if you print out several, staple them together, and gift them a custom coloring book! Just make sure they have loads of coloring utensils ready. Our current obsession is Honeysticks Crayons made from 100% non-toxic New Zealand beeswax and their new non-toxic finger paints. And hey, why not let them use their hands and color outside the lines on this one? Love tends to get a little messy anyway.
