We’re back with Beauty Marks, Vogue’s series that highlights the best in beauty each week. Celebrity beauty moments, MUA magic, stylists that craft reality-defying hair, manis to bring to your next nail appointment.
Couture Week’s runways told a story through their beauty looks, reinterpreting classics to herald the classic red lip comeback at Chanel, and a playful smoky eye at Armani Privé. At Ludovic de Saint Sernin’s guest collection show for Jean Paul Gaultier, Guido Palau took the shipwrecked theme to create washed-ashore, slick-down hair. Pat McGrath created moonbeams on the Grecian goddess faces of models at Schiaparelli.
Elsewhere, beauty this week was equal parts femme and freaky: nail art was sculptural, flipped and reversed, hair was piled high to make a poncy French monarch proud, and conceptual makeup took inspo from nature’s most ornate creatures. A special shout-out to the work of nail artist Park Eunkyung (AKA @Unistella), for Jennie Kim’s imaginative new sets across her appearances at Couture. Now she’s on the road to the release of her debut album Ruby, we’ll be sure to check her hands in every street style shot and visual to come. Actor and almost Academy Awards host Rachel Sennott has also been having a moment—while pulling archival Gaultier continues to be her sartorial focus, she’s also leaning into classic, high-femme beauty: pouty lips, big and bouncy blow-outs.
Next week, we’ll have a considered run-through of the Grammys and fashion week moments. For now, scroll through the best beauty looks of this week below.
