My two black-and-white cats are spoiled babies. I like to lavish them with new toys because they’re so silly when they freak out over a fresh catnip plush or a new laser chaser. For years I resisted buying a cat tower to fit into our already-crowded house, but I have one now, right in the living room window. It allows our one-year-old cat, especially, to enjoy the free entertainment that is watching birds. The older cat, who is eight years old, doesn’t like to jump up and so prefers to curl near her cat scratching post.
Buying their treats online works best for me because then I can check reviews from other pet parents. I try to buy most of their food at a local pet shop to support the small business, but too often I’ve picked up a random crinkle mouser there, and then the toy just sits on my floor, ignored. Online, dog and cat parents are happy to give feedback about pet toys and often include pictures with their reviews to help others decide whether or not to buy something.
Any of these seven websites has great selections, reasonable prices, and a community of consumers who provide helpful ratings.

Amazon
There are plenty of cat toys on Amazon and, of course, hundreds if not thousands of reviews on the most popular ones. A favorite in my house is this Yeowww! Catnip Banana, which the cats cradle in such a way that it looks like they’re trying to talk on a banana phone. More than 19K five-star ratings says a lot about the lasting power of the catnip in this winner.

Chewy
This massive pet-goods emporium has probably the best customer service in the biz. They’ll help you find anything, fix mistakes fast and even send sweet notes to customers who lose a pet. They also sell a lot of bundles, so I can get, say, my cat food and litter all for one price. And Chewy always has seasonal deals. Toy-wise, I’ve tried a lot of new things from here, including these Frisco Cat Springs. I think the way the springs skittle across the floor reminds cats of a bug and they go crazy batting them around. Good, cheap fun!

Happy & Polly
If what you’re looking for is a cat tower, this site has amazingly colorful and unique options, like this set of flower-shaped cat beds. The site and its Instagram are devoted completely to cats — no dogs on here! Happy & Polly ships worldwide and offers student discounts. In addition to a lot of colorful toys, the site sells a surprisingly robust selection of cat clothes seemingly designed for photo shoots.
Three Flower Cat Tree$179.99, originally $199.99

Target
Target sells plenty of cat toys in their stores, but the selection on the site is wider. I like to look at all the insanely creative versions of Target cardboard cat houses, like this two-story number that lets you pretend your cat is a psychic who deals in paw readings. Reviewers say it requires assembly but is worth it.
Crystal Shop Deluxe Cat and Rabbit Scratch House – Boots & Barkley™$24.99

PetCo
The search function is a little wonky on this pet-supply site — sometimes I hit the “cat” button and am served up dog jackets, for instance. But PetCo has a huge range of pet food, supplies and of course toys. My 1-year-old cat loves ducking into a cat tunnel and pretending we can’t see her; I really want to get her this version with plush inside. Reviewers note it makes a bit of a crinkle noise, too, which many cats love.
Leaps & Bounds Blue Cat Tunnel$14.94, originally $22.99

The Kind Pet
If you want to be sure your cat supplies are natural and sustainable, shop here. The selection is small but includes unique finds such as these wool felted balls from Karma Cat, made in Nepal. The Kind Pet was founded by two women looking to reduce their carbon footprint and live a low-waste lifestyle, even when it comes to pet care.

Wal-Mart
Bottom-line pricing will always make this a great site to check so that you’re not spending an outsize amount of your paycheck on amusing your cat. This Petstages Tower gets consistently high ratings across many sites and is as cheap as you can find on walmart.com. Just note that reviewers say it may come with three balls for your cat to bat, not the six shown in the photo, but no matter: Cats are obsessed.
Petstages Tower of Tracks Cat Toy, Orange, One-Size$25.99
