This evening in London, the 2025 BAFTAs marked the latest celebration of some of the last year’s best film and television projects—among them Wicked, Emilia Pérez, Anora, and Conclave. As such, the red carpet saw a bevy of A-list stars turn out for the affair (many of whom are also nominated for Academy Awards in March).
The best dressed stars of the night? Those who leaned into New Hollywood glamour (yes, you read that right), choosing sculptural silhouettes and modernized finishes that felt fresh.
Take Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, who went ethereal in her white macramé cotton lace bustier gown (with a breastplate that defied gravity—get it?). In McQueen, Demi Moore also turned heads in a dazzling gown that was reminiscent of stained glass, while Emilia Pérez star Selena Gomez chose a long, sleeveless gown by Schiaparelli Couture embroidered with silver sequins, crystals, rhinestones, and tassels—talk about disco ball dressing at its finest.
As for some of the best dressed gents of the night? Colman Domingo reworked traditional suiting in a printed shirt and leather coat by Versace. Timothée Chalamet went sleek in all black Bottega Veneta—a refreshing switch-up from the bolder, more Y2K-leaning looks he has been wearing while promoting A Complete Unknown.
