Warning: Love Is Blind Season 8 spoilers ahead. Love Is Blind Season 8 is now over, and the drama seems to be in crescendo now that we know most of the couples that got engaged out of the pods didn’t actually make it. Though if we’re being fair, the season started with its fair share of drama, with Taylor thinking Daniel knew what she looked like, then Dave being unable to deal with Lauren casually seeing someone before she went on the show, and those TikToks calling out Ben.
The Netflix reality show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, follows a group of singles who get to know each other without ever seeing what the other looks like and propose marriage before they get to meet. It’s a wild premise for ever-lasting love, but the show actually has a better track record than The Bachelor when it comes to couples that actually last.

Season 8 of the show, set in Minneapolis, Minnesota gave us five couples that chose to get engaged coming out of the pods: Monica and Joey, Taylor and Daniel, Sara and Ben, Lauren and Dave, and Virginia and Devin. Of those, however, only one got married, Taylor and Daniel. The trailer for the Love is Blind reunion seems to give a big hint as to why one of the couples, Devin and Virginia, didn’t work out, as Virginia reveals she saw a note from one of Devin’s exes on his nightstand, the night before the wedding.
But what happened between Virginia and Devin? Why didn’t they get married? Here’s the answer.
Who’s Devin’s Ex From Love Is Blind Season 8?

We don’t know exactly who Virginia is referring to when she talks about the note she found from Devin’s ex, but her exact words are, “The night before the wedding, I saw a note from his ex-girlfriend on his nightstand.” It’s clear that was enough to make Virgina doubt Devin’s commitment, and let’s remember she was the one who said no at the altar.
“I love you so much, but I’m just not ready,” she said during the wedding episode. “I’m so sorry.” Later, Virginia went on to explain her decision to the cameras. “I feel really bad that I hurt Devin and his family,” she said. “I think in a lot of our relationship I wanted to protect Devin, but it was important for me to protect myself. I don’t know if that’s a cultural thing, but it’s always been important for me to protect him.”

She also brought up some moments that felt like red flags as they were happening, like Devin’s reluctance to discuss topics like politics, something in which the two didn’t seem to see eye to eye. “There were just certain things he just didn’t want me to push on,” she explained. “There were just depths of our relationship that we didn’t get to. We just didn’t get there, and even our sexual relationship, we didn’t get to it. So, I just think we should be all the way there before we decide to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Presumably, all of that plus the presence of an ex was just too much for Virginia, who even after Devin said yes, couldn’t bring herself to make the commitment.
