Farmhouse-Converted Vacation Homes : Estancia San José

Paris-baed Atelier du Pont has joined forces with Aru Arquitectura, which is based in Menorca to create the Estancia San José. It is a vacation home that was converted from a pair of dilapidated old farm buildings. What stands out is the summer house detailed with a unique range of color palettes of textures. The renovation started with converting a traditional stone barn and the connected farmhouse.

The founders of Atelier du Pont, Anne-Cécile Comar and Philippe Croisier share with Dezeen, “It was a complete ruin and we brought it back to life. We preserved the character of both buildings but reimagined the entire space. The owners gave us carte blanche to imagine the interior concept and the different atmospheres in keeping with the spirit of the place. We were keen to pay homage to Minorcan savoir-faire and incorporate typical elements such as different types of rendering, textures and wall finishes.”
