The White Lotus Season 3 is coming to a close and people are dying to know where the next season will take place. It’s a world of luxury and rich people, but also one of absolute chaos.
The Four Seasons seems to be the filming location for all three seasons in Hawaii, Rome, and Thailand, and that pattern isn’t going to stop soon. The film crew happened to choose the luxury resort chain because they “that was the one hotel that let us shoot there,” executive producer David Bernad said.
Marc Speichert, chief commercial officer of Four Seasons Hotels, told Wallpaper: “The destinations were also carefully selected to match each season’s distinctive theme. For example, Koh Samui was not only chosen for its visually stunning environment overlooking the Gulf of Thailand but also for its thematic alignment with the season’s exploration of Eastern spirituality and existential themes.”

Season 4 of The White Lotus was greenlit before Season 3 was released. “We’re going on some locations scouting in the next couple of weeks, so we’ll know soon,” HBO executive Francesca Orsi told Deadline. Unlike the last three seasons, we’ll have to say goodbye to the whimsical ooohs and las of the theme song because of composer Cristóbal Tapia de Veer’s departure. However, we’re eager to return to stay at The White Lotus soon.

Mexico
According to an insider to Parade, producers might be eyeing a location in Mexico. “Right now, it’s looking like the next season of The White Lotus will be shot in Egypt or Mexico,” the insider said. “They want to pick somewhere they haven’t shot yet, so a new continent. They want to go somewhere completely new since this season is in Asia, which is why they’re between the two. The decision should be made soon.”
Lucky for them, The Four Seasons has locations in both Mexico City and Punta Mita.

Egypt was another country mentioned in the insider’s note. The Four Seasons has a hotel in the heart of Cairo.

Norway
Mike White reportedly scouted locations in Norway and asked the Norwegian Film Institute for a grant to film on lcation, but producer David Bernad said it won’t be a possibility, “Mike does not like the cold.” As he told The Bill Simmons Podcast, “[White] is a California guy. He is not built for the cold. Never say never, but I would be surprised.”

Australia
Mike White is happy to go down under for a season for The White Lotus. “My dream would be to hit every continent, so yeah, this is like its own continent basically,” he told Yahoo!. “We kind of have to come to Australia if we keep going. It would be so fun. Obviously, there’s a huge wealth of talent here and the beauty is inarguable, so it feels like it checks all the boxes.”

He even has a knack for including his fellow tribemates in sneaky cameos throughout all three seasons. Picture this: there’s a White Lotus hotel in Fiji and off in the distance, there’s a Survivor filming with some castaways. Maybe Jeff Probst can even be a hotel guest.
